Jocelyn Hears You

A Chapter is only as strong as the sisters who build it. As your candidate for President, Jocelyn believes that true leadership doesn't start with a platform. It starts with a conversation.

Sisterhood, Service and Solidarity thrive when every member feels seen, heard, and valued. She is committed to a Soror-first presidency where your suggestions aren't just heard, but are included as the primary drivers of our chapter’s growth. Whether you are a new member with a fresh perspective or a seasoned Soror with years of wisdom, your voice is one of the most constructive tools we have for identifying where we can improve and where we can innovate.

Jocelyn is not just running to lead; Jocelyn is running to listen. Thank you for sharing your questions and thoughts below, challenging the status quo, and helping her build a presidency that truly reflects the brilliance of every Soror in this Chapter.

Question: Can we create sister circles similar to what they had a few years ago. 5 random Sorors: 1 old, 1 new, 1 reclaim, etc? To be a group that are their Sorors keeper. Meet, in person or virtually, by phone email or letter?

Jocelyn's Response: Yes, this is a great idea. I fully support ringing back Sister Circles. We can intentionally structure them with a mix of Sorors (new, seasoned, and reclaimed) to strengthen connection and accountability. With the right structure and purpose, this can be a meaningful way to build deeper relationships. This suggestion will be forwarded to the Membership Team to oversee and facilitate. In order to implement, they will need the support from Sorors who are willing to participate.

Question: How will you continue to connect the "Reclaimed" Sorors?

Jocelyn's Response: This is important. The Membership Committee's Reclamation Team is working on this initiative and works to ensure a smooth transition for our Reclaim and Transfer Sorors. We definitely want to create opportunities to gather while listening to the unique needs of these Sorors. All Sorors should feel supported, comfortable and welcomed to embrace our Chapter activities, committees and initiatives.

Question: I like what you did with the Blue Table Talks. Will they be back?

Jocelyn's Response: I'm glad you liked them. We tried something new that many enjoyed. Blue Table Talks are coming back. The Membership Committee's Retention Team will poll the Sorors to find out what topics they would like to talk about and determine a day and time that works best for the majority.

Question: If elected, how will you improve our Chapter's sisterly connection?

Jocelyn's Response: I feel that strengthening sisterhood starts with intentional recognition and engagement. The work our Sorors are doing will be publicly recognized. This initiative falls under the Membership Committee's Retention Team. A key focus for them will be creating more opportunities for meaningful interaction.

Question: The virtual meeting option is nice if we cannot attend in person. Will this option continue if you’re elected?

Jocelyn's Response: Yes, we will continue the virtual meeting option with improvements. Sorors online are saying they cannot hear. This is something we need to fix so that all Sorors can fully participate and feel included.

Question: What do you think of having more sisterhood connection events?

Jocelyn's Response: I strongly support having more sisterhood activities. I'd like to see our auxiliaries, friends and families included as well to strengthen both our internal bonds and our external relationships. This is something the Membership Committee will address.

Question: Our social media could use some improvement. We do a lot and it all should be captured and shared. What are your thoughts on sharing birthday and ZetaVersary shout outs on social media including more on our events?

Jocelyn's Response: We are doing great work and it deserves to be shared. As First Vice-President, I am working with the MarCom Team to be more intentional about highlighting our event coverage, birthdays, and ZetaVersary recognitions. I agree that social media is a valuable tool and maintaining consistency and engagement is a priority.

Question: What are your thoughts on expanding our social action impact in our local community?

Jocelyn's Response: Before we expand our operations further in the community, we must first be strategic. A sub-committee from the Membership Team is working in coordination with our Social Action committee to complete our local area needs assessment. Once the report is done, the Membership Team will work with the Second Vice-President and Executive Board to make sure the Chapter's work is impactful, meaningful and in compliance.
